Pain levels after this procedure can be quite variable. The first 24 hours after surgery are the most intense. Unless you have any contraindications, take acetaminophen and ibuprofen for pain control. Your physician may also give you a prescription
Discharge
Most women will experience a clear or pinkish vaginal discharge for several days postoperatively that can be quite heavy. This is normal.
Self Care
Please refrain from using tampons, douching, having sexual intercourse, or using baths or hot tubs for approximately 4 weeks after the procedure. Showering is fine.
When to seek urgent medical attention
Report any of the following: pain that is progressively increasing, foul-smelling vaginal discharge, or a fever > 38°C.
